"Less is more" I tell you

Since foundation I have learnt a lot about designs principles and how to use them to make a good design. As a designer, it is important for us to learn in order to create a good design. One of the term that I used to come across since the early stage of learning design is the term of “Less is more”. It is also one of the favorite terms for the lecturer to use apart from few others. The phrase is commonly related to Ludwiq Mies Van Der Rohe who was a famous architect and also one of the creator of modern architecture and a supporter of simplicity of style. This phrase means the understanding that simplicity and clarity will lead to a good design.

my very own bus stop!

See the image up there? That was during the submission day of one of my assignment. It was an interesting assignment to experience. I am proud of myself while doing this assignment because it was my first time doing my very own mini model and apparently I think I did a good job. I I just hoped that the lecturers all think the same.

i have been searching around the Google images and i found few very interesting and creative advertisement design that have been put on the bus stop. some of it even change the actual architecture of a bus stop and come out with their own design but it is still cool for me :) enjoyed!

information much? -part2-

Having a great idea in inventing a good product or in this case information counter is not an easy job for the designer. commonly seen is the information counter where there is a table and maybe 2 or 3 chairs for the attendant and also the pamphlets full of information of a certain place. i have been to Alamanda which is a mall in Putrajaya and have taken few shot of the information counter there. Here are few pictures taken :





the cool things about this information counter is that they supplied mini motorcycle for the elderly and the disabled. it was very helpful indeed for anyone that in need and would be easier for them to shop around using this vehicle.





other than that, there are also other alternative ways for the visitor of the mall to get informations, such as mall map, pamplets and also signs.

we can see information counter almost anywhere we go, for example at the mall at the office building, hospital, banks and even at the hotel. information counter is important for the people to get the information about the place especially if they are new there and does not used to the environment. however, for me, a good information counter is when it can give a good first impression to the people. so here are a few images of information counter that i goggled up and has a great impression on me because of the looks and the idea behind it.
